Blogging for Money – Master the Skills for Wealth and Success

Hello and welcome to another review by yours truly. Today, we are going to look at blogging for money with “How to Monetize a Blog: Fast and Guaranteed Profit from WordPress”. Read on to find out more.

EDIT: I’m adding this after finishing the complete ‘course’, and while you are more than welcome to carry on reading, I wouldn’t bother. Quite honestly, I would click this link and check out the full list of free courses; it will save you 5 minutes of your life!

Blogging for Money Video Course

The course is made up of just one section, not surprisingly entitled, “How to Monetize a Blog”. Inside this section is 33 lessons. Since the lessons haven’t been put into different sections, I will take the liberty of doing it myself.

Why You Should Use WordPress

The first part of the course concentrates on WordPress. We go through the basics of setting up a WordPress site. There is a lot to take in and some of it requires a leap of faith because of the way the videos have been ordered.

I absolutely agree that WordPress is the platform you should be using to start your blog. After all, this site, like all my sites, is using WordPress. However, if you are new to blogging for money, you should watch videos 1 – 5 first together. This will help you understand why WordPress should be your go-to software for blogging.

How to Make WordPress to Create Your Brand

You will notice when you get to video 6 that there have been some editing mistakes. We have seen video 6 already as part of video 4, I think. It’s not a big deal, but it is a reason that the course seems a little uncohesive at the beginning. Still, it’s not a big deal.

So, in this section, I have included just 2 videos (6 & 7) as they are mainly about using WordPress to create a unique site and a unique brand. Again, there is a lot of info here, so you may want to slow down a bit and make sure you understand everything that is being said.

Setting Up Your Site to Promote Products

In this next section, we check out products to promote. One of the sites used is ClickBank, which is probably the most famous affiliate website. We also learn how to cloak our links using a WordPress plugin.

In video 9, I feel that I am still trying to understand exactly what sort of blogging for money business we will be building. It seems we will be concentrating on some form of a membership site, where you will be generating an income through people upgrading to a paid membership.

Then, in video 10, we see how to set up an opt-in form. For this he uses GetResponse. That is the autoresponder software I use myself. If you don’t have an autoresponder yet, I highly recommend you get one, and you could do a lot worse than use GetResponse. Click this link and if you upgrade, I will earn a little bit of money. Thank you.

In the last video in this section, we learn why setting up an autoresponder is vital to your business. Again, I think this would have been better said before the video about setting up an opt-in form so viewers understand the need of that form, but maybe that’s just me.

Setting Up WordPress for Collaboration

In this section, we learn how to add users to our website. Why we need to do this is a bit of a mystery since we are not really sure what the site is about in the first place. I have many websites and I have never wanted to add people to my website who will be working with me. Mind you, I have never needed to. It’s certainly worth knowing how to do this but not for a long time, I would think.

In the next video, we get to understand more about collaboration on WordPress. the last video certainly becomes clearer, but I still don’t think this is important. However, as I still don’t know what our goal is with our website, it may be very important. At the moment, who knows?

Getting to Know WordPress and Blogging for Money

Amazingly, we are now going back to find out all about WordPress to learn about how it works. Now don’t get me wrong, there is more good stuff in here and if you are a bit of a newbie, you will certainly appreciate the info. But I don’t really understand why this wasn’t right at the beginning of the course. Again, this isn’t a big deal but the cohesion of this course is severely odd.

Although I am not new to WordPress, I did watch the videos and there is some more bizarre stuff. The narrator, who is not the writer of the course for some reason, makes quite a few mistakes in video 15. I know because rather than editing the mistakes out, they have been left in. Although amusing, it gets extremely annoying to have these interruptions. Plus, the narrator sounds like one of those guys who pitch get-rich-quick products. Another annoyance.

Notice I have been saying “No biggie” to the bits I found annoying before? Well, I am not going to be saying that anymore as I am now thinking this course is not what I was hoping for. In fact, there are so many mistakes in video 15 that I gave up and moved on to the next video. The next 2 videos are about setting up posts and pages and, fortunately, there are no more editing mistakes.

More Videos that Aren’t Really Connected to Each Other

At about halfway through the course now and there are more random videos that don’t seem to be related to each other. In fact, I have come to the conclusion that this video course is not really a course at all. It is just a random set of videos, all related to WordPress, that individually make sense but as a whole, seem more than a bit confusing.

So, videos 18 – 32 are presented in no particular order. I should stress that the individual videos do have value. For example, if you wanted to know how to use WordPress as a training tool, you would watch that video. If you would like to know how to track activity, you could watch the tracking tool video.

To be honest, I am thinking that this is how I am going to recommend this entire course, not as a course itself, but as a collection of blogging for money training videos that you can dip into whenever you need to know something.

Wrapping Up Our Blogging for Money Review

Okay, now it has been a long wait but there is finally some good news about this course. The final video is an interview giving some great advice about how to get into network marketing.

This is a great video to watch with some really good advice. If you decide to sign up for this course, and as it’s free you might as well, then if you only watch one video, make it video 33.

I hate to not recommend online courses, especially if they are free, so I am not going to tell you to not to sign up for this course. As I said above, if nothing else, the final video is worth it.

However, if you sign up for it, think of it as individual training videos, and definitely, do not think of it as a course that will teach you blogging for money. It doesn’t do that at all. Anyhoo, click the button below if you want to sign up for it, but quite honestly, I wouldn’t bother.

If you enjoyed the above, leave a comment. And if you think I’ve left anything out, please feel free to add that below too. Thanks and speak again soon.
